| Getting around Grenada - Dive Grenada | ||||
Location: The Molinere Reef Protected Seascape is 5 kilometers north of St. George's on the Leeward on Western side of the island.
Beginning 20 feet down, Molinere Reef slopes to a wall which starts at 35 feet and drops to 65 feet. Molinere Reef is part of the Grenada National Park, this dive site is good for beginners as well as the advanced divers amongst you, it also has some excellent snorkelling closer to the shore line.
The National Park Summary Description: The area consists of a series of coral reefs and sea fans beds. The terrestrial part is represented by seasonal deciduous forest which provides a natural backdrop to the marine ecosystem. The Molinere Reefs forms part of an extensive recreational tourist complex on the island. There is a wide diversity of life forms on this outstanding reef, considered to be the best reef off the island of Grenada. Panoramic views can be had of the mainland from moving boats, and small private beach provides an outstanding area for nature enjoyment, relaxation, and snorkeling. The area has excellent qualities for the development of a variety of educational and recreational opportunities.
