Getting around Grenada - Dive Grenada
Isle De Rhonde Diving GrenadaDiving At Isle De Rhonde GrenadaIsle de Rhonde is one of a number of small islands that stretch off to the north from the northern tip of Grenada.
The area is pristine, with excellent clear water (washed by the Atlantic which passes through here into the Caribbean Sea) reefs of hard and soft corals, sponges and sea fans, and many reef fish.

There are some larger fish, including barracuda and the occasional shark.
This is the dive for you if you enjoy reef diving as the underwater scenery is stunning.
The visibility is excellent and it is definitely worth the day trip to Isle de Rhonde.
Along with an abundance of smooth trunkfish and porcupinefish there is also a possibility to see eagle rays.
I also saw a large lobster, approx 60cm.

Aquanauts Grenada
has written an excelent guide about this divesite.

Deep Blue A beautiful steep wall dropping to 140 feet straight, covered with sea fans and sponges of all colors.
A most of the time strong current attracts an array of pelagic marine life. |
The dive ends in the shallows, large star coral boulders give cover for nurse sharks, lobster and moray eels.
Sister Rocks A group of three rocks, in one of them divers can find a cave where they could surface and gasp some air.
Beware of the surf movement, the air bubble suddenly may become very tiny.
The reef surrounding is beautiful and untouched, large star and brain coral heads, huge sea rods, plenty of fish and marine life!
Frigate Rock A drop off to the east, a beautiful coral garden towards the south and dramatic rock boulders to the north are building the background for spectacular dive with an abundance of marine life.
Rhonde Reef A small barrier reef build from huge star corals and big heads of brain corals.
Marine life encounters include all kinds of Caribbean reef fishes, rays, turtles and in the shallows conch and triton shells.
Diamond Rock This rock dividing the currents, is as dramatic under water as above.
The wall is well covered with sea fans and deep canyons.
Off the wall in the shallow between the islands the current can be very strong, but attracts sharks, rays and turtles.
Face of the Devil A dive site for advanced divers only - strong Atlantic currents, depth and shark encounters making it a challenging but exciting dive.
Turtle Head As the name says a good chance to meet with these aged reptiles among a beautiful reef.
Since this is the Atlantic side, diving is only possible in calm conditions.
